I never saw that happen. What kind of pie is it going to be? And Lost in Translation, and maybe Blade Runner amd 2049 and and… never mind! But I could tell by the editorial treatment of that moment - all of these characters sitting in silence absorbing this guy's self congratulatory musings that this was in fact the thesis of the film.
