Beth, you cracked me up with this video, but you also encouraged me. Just wish for more information about why she decided to change. Great characters and the old church sounds like a great old building set in a spooky old town. Nothing is beyond his redemption when he is invited in.

I will only add that Moore’s skill as a researcher emerges in her ability to lace her work with intricacies about life in New Orleans familiar to locals, such as timing of the traffic on the 610, the sideways rain that defies umbrellas, and the fact that we do indeed readily assume familiarity with those we have just met, including freely sharing our opinions and kissing on the cheek. I was worried every character would be a perfect upright uptight Christian - they weren't. I also love people who try to “get in” so to speak. I don’t want to ruin the story for others, but I like how some of the characters are, there reactions, it’s how some people are. I must have missed something.

They are all bits and pieces of this one and that one. (I didn’t and I am glad I didn’t). He is not scandalized by our failures. How did they get to Saint Silvanus? There was a big slow spot about 1/3 of the way through and probably a few too many wild overreactions and stomping out the room/slamming the door events considering everyone involved is an adult, but some of that could be cultural or just an over-emphasis on the immaturity of some of the characters early on.
